As you are well aware, Bourbon and Rye whiskies are required by law to be aged in new charred oak containers which contain a significant amount of complex compounds that are imparted to whiskies during the aging process. Additionally, at Michter’s we custom toast or heat the barrels before charring to allow more flavor extraction from the wood. We have done extensive research on chill filtration and we take the issue very seriously. While it might seem counterintuitive, the whiskey can actually allow more of the beautiful characters to reveal themselves through skillful filtration. At Michter’s we have taken the time to understand the natural color, chemical complexity and aroma of each different style of whiskey prior to filtration to develop our standards and have similarly developed expert methods of custom filtration for each different style of our whiskey. Our intention is to create the highest quality American Whiskey experience for all of our consumers.

Michter's Distillery: No Churn Cinnamon Rye Ice Cream 3 Tablespoons Michter's US*1 Kentucky Straight Rye 1 (14-Ounce) Can Sweetened Condensed Milk 1 1/2 Teaspoons Ground Cinnamon 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract Pince Coarse Salt 2 Cups (1 Pint) Heavy Cream In a bowl combine condensed milk, rye, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt. Whisk until combined. Set aside. In a large bowl, whip cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold whipped cream into rye mixture. Pour into a loaf pan or freezer safe container. Cover with plastic. Freeze until firm, about 5 hours (or overnight).
