So you're a college student and all your friends are going out and maybe you want to take the night off from drinking or you just don't drink very often but still want to go out to be social with all your friends. Let me tell ya how I 'hacked the mainframe' and stayed completely sober, had a great time, avoided getting pressured with drinks from people, and then woke up feeling amazing this morning. ————————————————————————
Step 1: Get a bottle of water. 
Step 2: Get Mio Electrolytes and B Vitamins. 
Step 3: combine above into a mixed drink
Step 4: put the placebo effect to work and enjoy the night! ————————————————————————
See I've been doing me for so long now that almost everyone I associate with knows how healthy and fit I aspire to be and how rare it is for me to go out drinking. So when I show up in a social setting with a bottle of water and no sodas or chasers, they believe I'm just drinking straight liquor because it's the healthiest option, chasers are calories right? Either way everyone's happy and having a good time. I can happily drink my water, avoid peer pressure, and have a grand time.   • ROW ROW ROW TO GROW🛶🛶
This is one of my favorite ways to cap off a back workout: superset supinated grip cable pulldowns with iso cable rows dropsetted to a dual cable row burnout. As you can see, I waste no time between supersets. I also take a moment before beginning the cable rows to properly set my core up for the movement by engaging all four layers of my abdominals and create a stiff spine. After meeting with <a href=/user/doyouethanlift_>@doyouethanlift_</a> , this is one of the things I learned I could implement immediately into every set and rep of my workouts. I definitely noticed a huge difference not only in my core but my lats and lower traps as well when performing the exercise with proper core engagement. It's really all about tweaking the little things, for big results. ————————————————————————
PS I really need a phone with more storage, after deleting nearly all my messages, apps, and photos I still had to find more things to erase to find space just to export this compressed video sped up at 1.4x speed to fit instagram.   • IM JUST DOIN ME 💁🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🙋🏼‍♂️
It's hard to stop someone who never gives up.  Peer pressure will never stop me. Things I am very aware of that make me very different from many of those surrounding me include: I have the sleep schedule of a wall street day trader, I have the hairline of a retired Lebron James, I have the joints of a 90 year old, and my drinking habits don't exist/ all I drink is water. While many may not understand, I do. If you know your motives, if you know why you do what you do, you are unstoppable. Yes, it does get tough, it does get lonely, it does seem like with every step forward there's two steps back. But you'd be shocked how many people experience the things you do and think the same way you do. All you can control is your actions and by staying true to your course you will naturally cross paths with others pursuing similar goals. So when faced with decisions between short term gratification and long term fulfillment, I will always chose the latter. People may question you, they surely question me a lot but my response is always the same: I'm just doing me. Whatever it is you're facing, keep doing you. 
Functionality has always been something that has presented me with problems and setbacks. It is also something I know I am not very knowledgeable about. I have now been surrounding myself with those who are more knowledgeable in the field and learning as much as I can to help myself and my clients. I am all about leading by example. Therefore I want to test out every technique I learn on myself before I prescribe it to anyone else. This is a stabilizing movement for the lower trapezius and rhomboids for someone like myself who has disproportionally developed upper traps and slightly rounded shoulders due to tightness in the pec development. Listen to the video for all the cues to properly engage the targeted muscles.

  • FUNCTIONALITY 🕺🏼🤷🏼‍♂️
Had the awesome opportunity to spend an hour working with <a href=/user/doyouethanlift_>@doyouethanlift_</a> today on improving mobility and functionality throughout my entire body. Since playing football in highschool, I have battled hip injuries that were never properly addressed. As I progressed in my bodybuilding style training, the issues only compounded upon one another and got worse. There were a million and one things this man was able to rattle off about different imbalances with my functionality. But it didn't stop at diagnosis. Ethan put me through a serious of stretches and fascia release before introducing me to new exercises to incorporate into my warmup routine. Then we tested out my squat and the difference was insane! I haven't been able to drop back into a squat so seemlessly and freely in so long. After dealing with the lower body, we ran through a serious of breathing techniques, posture cues, and scapula functionality movements (video coming soon). I am beyond excited to implement what I've learned from Ethan in my routine and see how I progress. I always preach about the long term healthy fit lifestyle and incorporating these functionality rehab drills is definitely going to help me towards living that long term dream.   •  <a  href=/tag/5KaDAY>#5KaDAY</a> Today will be the 6th consecutive day eating 5000 calories. As of this morning, I weighed in a half pound less at 197.5 than the morning I started lol. By the end of the day I'll hit around 200lbs but the goal is to hit 210lbs in the morning. I've been pounding a box of pasta and a box of mac n cheese every day so this quote pic fits perfectly how I feel after eating so much. Might crank it up to 6000 kcal a day next week with a lot of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches because back when I very first started I used to put back 4-6 PB&Js a day and it worked out pretty well. Not gonna lie its been pretty tough eating so much in the sense that I am always full but it sure beats being consumed with the starving thoughts of when my next meal is. Now accepting food challenge suggestions to help me get through these crazy high calorie days?! 🍩😋😵

  • STRETCH TO GROW 🙏🏽🙌🏼
Back on the early morning school workout grind and it's a true blessing. No crowds. No distractions. Just me, some ignorant music, and the weights. Oh plus up and coming videographer filmmaker editor <a href=/user/julianlifts>@julianlifts</a> who specializes in  <a  href=/tag/sickangles>#sickangles</a> and occasional favors to record while I stay focused on the task at hand. Current weekly split is first 3 workouts power and second 3 workouts hypertrophy with an arm day in the middle cause I wanna make these giraffe neck long arms grow. Also back in the yoga routine 2-3 times a week for an hour.  <a  href=/tag/getstretchy>#getstretchy</a> ——————————————————————————
Strength without flexibility is like life without purpose. To have one without the other is unfulfilling, but attaining both takes time and patience. <a href=/user/weatherford5>@weatherford5</a> put it perfectly. 💭

Still squatting everyday, alternating between back and from squat. Today hit some barbell rows, dead stop rows, weighted pull-ups as seen above, and finished with shrugs. Kept it simple and brought the intensity, full range of motion, and full contraction every single rep. Mini goal to hit 10 weighted pull-ups at a total of 250lbs bodyweight+free weight. Hit sets of 5 today so 10 is coming sometime in the future. Love the stretch at the bottom of these weighted reps. Give em a try if your back is tightening up or if you're just tryna grow wings. 💸

  • THE POWER OF NO 🙅🏼‍♂️
Today I accepted an offer to work at a highly competitive firm in the field/ department I wanted AND the location I wanted. I say this not to boast but to illustrate how a relentless pursuit for what you want will pay off with patience, never settling, and not being afraid to say no. See I applied to probably over 50 positions. I was rejected interviews from numerous companies, denied after multiple rounds of interviews from more companies, and flat out ignored after interviewing from other companies. I also received offers from other companies but I knew it wasn't the best fit role and not in the location I most desired. So I denied the offer with no back up. I did not settle. And I continued my pursuit for exactly what I wanted. Today that pursuit was realized. When you have a clear vision of what you, work relentlessly until it becomes reality. You might have to pass up good opportunities and you will definitely have to persevere through rejection for the great opportunity. Colorado summer 2017 baby! Say goodbye to the endless hours on the treadmill, stepmill, and elliptical. Say hello to easy lifestyle changes that save you time, will power, and mental stability. ————————————————————————————Look I have been there. I have read the articles and watched the pros preach walk on a treadmill at an incline at a slow pace for a long time to burn your fat away!! So that's exactly what I did. Fasted cardio and LISS for days. Sounds glorious, sounds so doable, and best yet it sounds so easy. The problem is it drives us mentally insane. Counting down the minutes we have left and praying it flies by when we know it won't. We become mentally stressed which leads our body to release more cortisol (the stress hormone) and then guess what happens?! While you're doing an activity to burn fat, you're stressed and actually holding onto that fat! Counterproductive right? Not to mention a huge waste of time. But have no fear, here are some simple ways to still burn fat while maximizing your time for things that really matter like your friends, family, and pets. ————————————————————————————1. High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) > Low Intensity Steady State (LISS) cardio
2. Stairs > Elevator 
3. Park in the back of parking lots
4. Use rest time between sets to walk to the water fountain and/or superset in a lagging body part with low weight 
5. Eat lunch at your desk and use your lunch break to go on a walk
 6. Hike/ Walk outdoors

  • DEADMILL SPRINTS 🏃🏽🏃🏽🏃🏽
**the treadmill is completely shut off. this is an all out sprint. leave nothing left in the tank each sprint. for reference, after the third sprint my mind told me to stop. told me i was crazy. told me to give up. after the forth sprint my legs were absolutely gassed. my legs felt like a thousand bricks. after the fifth sprint, the mental and physical block was gone. i felt nothing but adrenaline. after the final sprint i felt exhausted mentally and physically but i also felt extremely satisfied. keep on pushin on. your mind always quits before your body. be stronger.**

THE ALCOHOL FAUX🕺🏼🤡 So you're a college student and all your friends are going out and maybe you want to take the night off from drinking or you just don't drink very often but still want to go out to be social with all your friends. Let me tell ya how I 'hacked the mainframe' and stayed completely sober, had a great time, avoided getting pressured with drinks from people, and then woke up feeling amazing this morning. ———————————————————————— Step 1: Get a bottle of water. Step 2: Get Mio Electrolytes and B Vitamins. Step 3: combine above into a mixed drink Step 4: put the placebo effect to work and enjoy the night! ———————————————————————— See I've been doing me for so long now that almost everyone I associate with knows how healthy and fit I aspire to be and how rare it is for me to go out drinking. So when I show up in a social setting with a bottle of water and no sodas or chasers, they believe I'm just drinking straight liquor because it's the healthiest option, chasers are calories right? Either way everyone's happy and having a good time. I can happily drink my water, avoid peer pressure, and have a grand time. Cheers to my sober peeps still livin it up! #H2O #electrolit (really can't believe I thought of that smh at myself but i'm geekin) 💦💦💦
